About the CFTN
The Canadian Fair Trade Network is a coordinated national network of Fair Trade supply chain actors, non-profit organizations, and individuals promoting Fair Trade
availability, knowledge, recognition, attitude, and procurement. Network contributors include a variety of Fair Trade oriented organizations such as campus clubs, Engineers Without Boarders Chapters, businesses, non-profit organizations, and social and environmental justice advocates.
Network Vision:
To be the neutral voice that represents all stakeholders seeking to create a new and equitable approach to global trade and development and create a system in which social, ethical, environmental concerns are highly regarded.
Network Mission:
By mobilizing at the grassroots level to create wide systemic change, the Network will provide an essential space in which like-minded individuals from across Canada will be able to share knowledge, experience, and resources to further promote Fair Trade as an alternative.
Three Foundational Pillars:
- Availability: Maintaining a strong and neutral voice to increase consumer awareness and drive government policy to reflect the demand for Fair Trade.
- Visibility: Increasing the scope of the Fair Trade market and improving market awareness of Fair Trade options to further drive demand.
- Desirability: Creating the realization that consumers do have an ethical choice, that their choice does have an impact, and that their purchasing power matters.
