Where do I get started?

The Fair Trade Campus movement in Canada is led by Fairtrade Canada, advocacy for and assistance with becoming one can be acquired directly through Fairtrade Canada, or through the CFTN, this page is meant to provide the background and the tools necessary to have individuals have their own campus designated Fair Trade.

The Fair Trade town's campaign is a Fairtrade Canada initiative; as such Fairtrade Canada both sets the guidelines and declares the designation once the targets are met. The CFTN works to assist towns groups, provide them with resources, help them with methods and share best practices.

The CFTN is a national network; therefore national campaigns focused around advocacy are central to its strength’s. What a network and a network such as this provides is the ability for Fair Trade advocacy to be spoken with a much louder and coordinated voice and with the right partners a much more legitimate and powerful voice.
